Thank you for your interest in a Professional Services consulting career at Equity Methods.
What We Do
The Consulting Practice is a unique organization within an organization. We focus on supporting clients in addressing the more complicated finance and accounting challenges related to FAS 123R. We have worked with private equity firms going public that issue, then need to report on, a diverse set of atypical equity awards. This requires knowledge of the tax and earnings per share implications of share-based compensation plans. We regularly develop customized Monte Carlo simulation models to value executive stock options with exotic features and implement fair-valuation methodologies for broad-based equity compensation plans.
Who We Are
We are a diverse group of individuals possessing backgrounds in quantitative finance, technical accounting, and econometrics. We are fascinated by the science of accounting and finance. We love to learn through the client work we perform and the research we conduct to continuously enhance the rigor of our offerings. In fact, many of our key team members have spent years teaching at top-tier universities. Above all, we are a group that thrives on collaborative knowledge creation and application-first, because we know the value that cutting-edge solutions bring to our clients, and, second, because we are naturally curious.
Who We Look For
We look for individuals that demonstrate an aptitude and interest in accounting or finance, but in a way that blends a love for theory with a love for execution. We are known by our clients as academic in our thinking, but incredibly applied in our delivery. We look for bright, energetic individuals who have demonstrated an ability to learn fast and follow through on commitments. However, even more important than aptitude is attitude: your character. We are a collaborative group that demands a culture of mutual respect.
Because of our high expectations, we are able to provide even new members of the practice with stimulating engagements that involve analysis and presentation to senior-level finance and accounting executives at client firms and managers/partners from Big 4 audit firms. Through our team-based approach, energetic and bright individuals learn key principles and methodologies quickly in order to add value early on in their tenure at Equity Methods. If you thrive on solving analytically challenging accounting or finance problems and you enjoy presenting and supporting the rigor of your work, then we encourage you to apply.
