July 17, 2023
Once again, we’ve earned a spot on two workplace rankings. On July 11, Best Companies Group, Bridgetower Media, Arizona Capitol Times and BestCompaniesAZ recognized Equity Methods as one of the Top Companies to Work for in Arizona for 2023. Our firm, which took the number-two spot in the Medium Companies category, has been present on this highly selective list since the program’s inception in 2013.
Then today, Equity Methods was selected as one of the Top Workplaces in Arizona for the third consecutive year. Top Workplaces is an annual program of the Arizona Republic and azcentral in partnership with survey company Energage. Employees are the sole determinators of a Top Workplaces award, and this year, 140 organizations earned recognition out of 4,882 that were invited to participate.
We’re thrilled to have earned these distinctions from independent organizations. They validate our efforts to create a friendly, supportive environment—one that encourages people to bring their A-game to work every day. But what do they mean for students and experienced professionals who may be wondering whether Equity Methods is right for them? Here are seven perspectives, all based on feedback from our employees.
1. You can make an impact
We help clients address difficult challenges, and we get you involved from day one. Many are surprised at how quickly they find themselves in front of clients, sharing the work we’ve done to make their lives easier.
2. You get to collaborate with other smart people
We encourage one another to learn. We’re also happy to brainstorm ideas or help you polish an existing one and drive its adoption firmwide. Stuck on a problem? You have a team of people around you, ready to jump in with guidance and support.
3. Hierarchy doesn’t get in the way
Yes, there are different levels of seniority (and a career path for you). But everyone rolls up their sleeves—you’re never expected to work harder than the rest of us. From new associates to senior management, our doors are open and the lines of communication are clear.
4. We invest in you
Our apprentice-focused approach to upskilling isn’t the only development opportunity that’s available. Other examples include our manager training series, team offsites, and the potential to explore new or existing capabilities that may be of interest to you.
5. Our culture is flexible
We’re not into rigid time tracking and micromanagement. Varying work hours and arrangements are possible so long as you’re delivering results. The same goes for autonomy. And if you need help balancing workloads, just ask.
6. We have a strong reputation in the marketplace
Few organizations do what we do. And even in that specialized segment, we stand out for the quality of our work and our ability to translate arcane concepts into plain everyday English. That’s gained us recognition from a variety of organizations, including high-profile startups and Fortune 500 multinationals.
7. The need for our services is growing
We’re at the leading edge of a range of business issues, from pay equity and executive compensation to financial reporting and complex securities. These issues are constantly evolving and often ambiguous, requiring people like us to put in the research and develop the solutions our clients need.
These are just some of the reasons Equity Methods is a great place to work. And our talented team of professionals get a big part of the credit, according to CEO Takis Makridis. “We’re committed to a friendly, supportive environment that encourages people to explore their interests and forge their own paths,” Takis says. “This culture of learning and growth sets us apart in a highly competitive marketplace for talent.”
