Todd Ellermann is chief technology officer at Equity Methods, where he leads the firm’s product, engineering, and IT operations. In this role, Todd is responsible for advancing technology strategy, product innovation, and potential applications of AI. He’s also responsible for enterprise security compliance and governance. 

Todd brings decades of experience architecting, designing, and delivering enterprise-class software platforms across a wide range of industries, including education, financial services, e-commerce, data services, and life sciences. He has deep expertise in building scalable, standards-based systems and has led the development of complex, multi-tier applications spanning cloud platforms, mobile technologies, data pipelines, AI/ML, and video streaming.   

Todd’s technical foundation is rooted in object-oriented software development and large-scale Java-based systems, complemented by extensive experience driving agile transformation and modern engineering practices. He’s an in-demand speaker on AI and technology topics at nationally known conferences.   

A proven technology leader, Todd has built, led, and developed high-performing engineering organizations ranging from small, specialized teams to enterprise-scale groups. Before joining Equity Methods, Todd served as chief technology officer and vice president of engineering across multiple organizations, including Imagine Learning, TripAdvisor, and Comcast.

Todd holds a BS in computer engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA with a software engineering certificate from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business. He’s also completed the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership.
