2015 has seen many changes in new trends in the compensation world.  Among those shifts is a move by many companies to issue more novel and creative award designs.  At the Las Vegas NASPP Chapter, Narine Karakhanyan of Equity Methods discussed some of the latest trends in new awards designs. Too often, wrong turns can often result in friction for award recipients, the compensation committee, and those administering and accounting for the plan.  The best practice: stay tuned in to new trends, downstream risks to proactively avert, and collaborate pre-grant with related functions (accounting, HR, stock administration, and legal).
