Equity Methods will be presenting four sessions at the 2018 E*TRADE Directions Conference:

CEO Pay Ratio: What Just Happened? with Takis Makridis

We’ll explore live data on actual CEO pay ratio disclosures to unpack how the new rule has fared relative to expectations. Our panel will also discuss lessons from the first proxy season of compliance and what takeaways audience members can begin implementing for year two.

Joining Takis on the panel will be Megan Schilling from Cooley and Mike Alicea from E*TRADE.

Is your Equity Retaining the Right Employees? New Hire to Termination with David Outlaw

This session will discuss the equity award lifecycle, beginning with new hire granting and how to use equity to achieve talent acquisition goals, all the way to how equity awards are handled in separation events. A cross-functional panel will consider the strategic human resources, stock administration, and accounting/tax considerations.

Joining David on the panel will be Stephen Baillie from Chegg, Joe Machewirth from Prudential Financial, and Melissa Callender from E*TRADE.

Not Your Father’s ESPP with Takis Makridis

Employee stock purchase plans (ESPPs) are one of the most overlooked equity compensation vehicles. When implemented thoughtfully, they can deliver exceptional motivation and retention benefits at a relatively low cost. In this session, we explore design features that can amplify the positive effects of an ESPP.

Joining Takis on the panel will be Ralph Barry of Compensia, Michele Farmer of Illumina, and Scott Wallace of E*TRADE.

Equity Compensation Trends: Designing Thoughtful Long-Term Incentive Programs with Nathan O’Connor

This session looks at a handful of contemporary award design and corporate governance issues that should be considered in the context of any long-term incentive program. The panel will share statistics from internal and external surveying on design trends, while also covering recent events such as tax reform.

Joining Nathan on the panel will be Courtney Yu of Equilar and Neil Birrell of E*TRADE.

We look forward to presenting in San Diego!
