Current Trends in Performance Award Design
David Outlaw of Equity Methods discusses creative approaches for decreasing award cost (or delivering more shares or value) while maintaining robust incentives. Continuing with Equity Methods’ research and work regarding the strategic use of award “levers,” David shows how companies can design more efficient awards that simultaneously meet the needs of recipients, shareholders, and committee members. In the course of doing so, David also explains how to set appropriate expectations with internal stakeholders regarding variables that might change between the compensation committee “blessing” an award and that award’s eventual grant. Attendees will be exposed to a variety of creative award designs that are currently being used by many leading organizations.
